PERFORMANCE ORDER

The illustrative material on removal and installation of a head of cylinders of the engine of a series 111 is presented on illustrations which all references meeting in the text concern.
Empty cooling system (see. Head Current leaving and service).
Remove a broad tank of system of cooling (see. Head of System of cooling, heating and air conditioner).
To Otboltita a reception pipe from a final collector.
To Otboltita from transmission a basic arm of system of production of the fulfilled gases.
Uncover the thermostat (see. Head of System of cooling, heating and air conditioner).
Disunite contact sockets brought to a head of cylinders of electroconducting.
To Otboltita the inlet pipeline (19) (see. The section Removal and installation of the inlet pipeline), separate the last from a head of cylinders and take him aside.
Disconnect the ventilating line.
On engines with the aluminum inlet pipeline отболтите an arm (2).
Disconnect a hose of an okhladitelny path (3) from a back part of a head.
Remove a forward cover of a head of cylinders (see. Section Removal and installation of covers of a drive of GRM).
To Otboltita directing tube (7) щупа measurements of level of impellent oil.
On models from AT отболтите directing tube (8) щупа measurements of level of ATF.
Having turned a cranked shaft in the normal direction, bring the piston of the first cylinder into situation 20-30 ° after VMT.
Fix camshafts (75 and 78) by means of blocking cores.
With marker mark the provision of a gas-distributing chain on asterisks of camshafts.
Remove a natyazhitel of a chain (14) (see. Section Removal and installation of components of a drive of GRM).
Remove from a head of cylinders directing to a chain (see. Section Removal and installation of components of a drive of GRM).
Remove asterisks (76 and 74) final and inlet camshafts.

Bolts of fastening of asterisks are subject to replacement without fail.

Remove an inlet camshaft assembled with a regulator (see. Section Removal and installation of GRM components).
To Priboltita arm (16).
Take directing pins (11).
Turn out bolts (And) fastenings to a head of cylinders of a cover of a drive of GRM (see. Section Removal and installation of covers of a drive of GRM).
In stages weaken, then turn out bolts (12) fastenings of a head.
Check a condition of bolts (12), in case of need make replacement.
Connect an elevating rigging to an arm (16) and to a back eye of the engine.
Having lifted up, accurately separate a head from the block of cylinders.
Carefully smooth out interfaced surfaces of a head and the block, having completely removed from them all traces of a material of old laying.
Clean carving openings under fixing bolts.
Installation is made as it should be, the return to an order of dismantle of components.

Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

On the models equipped with the engine 113.942 (ML 430) remove an airchipper (1).
Empty cooling system (see. Head Current leaving and service).
Uncover the power unit.
On all models, except ML 55 AMG and ML 500 remove the fan of system of cooling with the vyazkostny coupling, then dismantle a fan casing.
On models ML of 55 AMG and ML 500 remove assembly of the electric fan of system of cooling.
Establish the screen of protection of the К/В radiator/condenser.
Remove an air purifier (7).
Remove an air sleeve (6) with the rezonatorny chamber (7).
Dump pressure in a power supply system (see. Head of the Power supply system and production of the fulfilled gases) also disconnect a gasoline pipe line from the fuel highway.
Remove coils of ignition (12).
Remove covers of heads of cylinders (13).
Remove the CMP (15) sensor.
Belt of a drive of auxiliary units.
Remove the line of an okhladitelny path (16) on the left head of cylinders.
Remove a loker of protection of a wheel arch (9).
Remove the deflector (10) (models with series 113 engines).
Remove a basic arm of system of production of the fulfilled gases (11).
Disconnect reception pipes of system of production of the fulfilled gases from final collectors.
Having turned a cranked shaft in the normal direction, bring the piston of the first cylinder into situation 40 ° after VMT in which there is no risk of collision of pistons with valves at a provorachivaniye of camshafts.
Remove a natyazhitel of a chain (17) (see. Section Removal and installation of components of a drive of GRM).
Remove the case of the oil filter (18) assembled with the liquid heat exchanger (models with series 113 engines).
Turn out bolts of fastening of asterisks of camshafts (19).
Remove bridges of covers of camshafts (28).
Turn out bolts of fastening of a head of cylinders to a cover of a drive of GRM (20).
In stages release, then turn out bolts of fastening of heads (21).
Remove a head of cylinders.
By survey identify the version of laying of a head.
Study a condition of fixing bolts (21).
Carefully smooth out interfaced surfaces of heads and the block, having completely removed from them all traces of a material of old laying.
Clean carving openings under fixing bolts.
Installation is made as it should be, the return to an order of dismantle of components.

At identification on interfaced surfaces of heads and the block of cavities laying installation on heads is made with hermetic application.
