Removal
Details of installation of rack-mount assemblies of a back suspension bracket

- Details of installation of rack-mount assembly of a back suspension bracket are shown on an illustration which all references meeting in the text concern.
- Remove back wheels, remove запаску (except models with fastening of the last on the holder behind a door of a back and models 163.174). At the corresponding complete set remove the external holder of a spare wheel.
- On models 163.174 (ML 55 AMG) remove loker of protection of wheel arches.
- Uncover (75р).
- Give nuts (75а) fastenings of rack-mount assembly to a lateral beam of a frame.
- Having blocked a carving rod from a provorachivaniye, release a nut (75u) the bottom support of the shock-absorber (75) on the bottom cross-section lever of a suspension bracket (67).
- Prop up the bottom cross-section lever of a suspension bracket (67).
- Release a nut and remove a connecting bolt (78f) fastenings to the bottom lever (67) of a torsionny bar (77).
- Having released nuts of fixing bolts, disconnect the lever (67) from a stretcher and carefully lower it down, removing from the directing.
- Liberate from the lever (67) carving the shock-absorber (75) a rod of rack-mount assembly, - in case of need use a hammer with soft the brisk.

Dismantling

- Having compressed a screw spring by means of the special adaptation (01, 01а), take the shock-absorber (75).
- Release the tool compressing a spring.
- Estimate a condition of the top components of the shock-absorber, the failed details replace.

- Attentively study a condition of a rod of the piston of the shock-absorber, - in case of identification of deformations or signs of violation of smoothness of a piston stroke the shock-absorber is subject to replacement.
- Make sure of lack of signs of development of external leaks.
- The defective shock-absorber replace, - it is better in a set with the second.
- Collect rack-mount assembly, - spring compression is made again by means of the special adaptation.

Installation Installation is made as it should be, the return to an order of dismantle of components. At installation of the cross-section lever the back bridge should occupy strictly horizontal situation. Track correctness of landing of a cover (75р).
